USE YOUR LEGAL SKILLS TO MAKE A MEANINGFULL DIFFERENCE
Hel.LAS offers attorneys the opportunity to give back to a community that has provided so much to all of us. By volunteering your time and professional experience, you can help individuals and families better understand their rights, address difficult legal problems and gain meaningful access to justice.
Whether you are an experienced practitioner, a newer attorney, in-house counsel, a retired attorney or a law student, there may be a place for you to contribute.
WHY VOLUNTEER
Professional Service With a Personal Impact
A legal problem can affect a person’s home, family, livelihood, financial stability or future. For someone who cannot afford counsel, even a limited amount of legal guidance can make an important difference.
Volunteering with Hel.LAS allows you to:

Serve low-income members of Chicago’s Greek community
-
Apply your professional skills to real community needs
-
Accept opportunities aligned with your interests and availability
-
Expand your knowledge into new practice areas
-
Participate in seminars, training and Continuing Legal Education programs
-
Receive guidance from experienced attorneys when available
-
Build relationships with attorneys and community leaders
-
Help strengthen confidence in and access to the legal system
